Kemi Sowemimo
Olukemi Sowemimo is the Founder of Connaissance, The School of Etiquette and Social Protocol. She has a passion for character, proper behaviour, respect for others, integrity and good old values. Kemi believes a society will have a positive turn around in terms of civility; when positive values are learnt and embraced by all, especially by the twenty first century child and young adult, who will soon become the future leader. These innate values have been the driving force behind her founding Connaissance.
Kemi has over twenty years of corporate work experience in different industries, and has therefore sharpened her work ethics, Business and Social Etiquette Skills. Her career over the years cuts across the Financial, Agricultural, Fashion, Hospitality and Public Sector Industries in different capacities; including Human Resource and Administration, Business Development and Support, Customer Care and Operations, Hospitality Liaison and Tax Audit. Her strong interpersonal and communication skills bring expression for her talent, energy and passion, which is to positively impact lives, hence the rooted desire to impact the lives of teenagers and young adults.
Her system bridges the gap of lost and warped values in the twenty first century child and young adult, poor social conduct and habits, partly induced by our fast paced society, technology and inability to set boundaries amongst others. Primarily, she complements the effort of the parents and the schools, by teaching the importance of treating people with respect, valuing others and living with integrity. She does this by creating a vision of what positive character and manners can make possible for them now and in the future.
She currently volunteers as a facilitator at the annual Activate Youth Camp initiative, a seven-day Personal Development program for teenagers in public schools and as a mentor at The Echoes of Mercy and Hope Foundation, (EMHF) a Christian ministry that is committed to giving a hope and a future to young and destitute girls. Kemi also volunteers at the Pastor Bimbo Odukoya Foundation as a facilitator, a Non-Governmental Organisation on a mission to rescue, empower and protect the rights of the woman and the girl child.
Kemi is an alumnus of the School of Hotel Administration Executive Education Program, Cornell University Ithaca, NY, USA; where she participated in the Professional Development Program in Hospitality and Revenue Management. She is a Certified Etiquette Consultant, formally trained by Etiquette Moms by Moms on Edge LLC, Osprey, Florida and a graduate of the prestigious American School of Protocol, Atlanta Georgia. She is also a member of the Society of Certified Etiquette Trainers, a member of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) and currently sits on the board of AICI Nigeria.
