Capsule Presentations & Business Writing Course

Communication is critical to the success of any organisation. Like the circulatory system of the body, it’s the connection between all the different parts of an organisation; leaders and constituents, suppliers and distributors, officers and customers. Whether it’s a face-to-face conversation or a professionally written e-mail exchange, a meaningful message entails establishing a connection that leaves a powerful impression.

In our fast-paced world, being able to quickly connect with, engage and pass one’s message across to the audience is a strong measure of success whether running a business, managing a team, liaising with clients or making a sales pitch. We can do this well or we can do this badly, either way the outcome strongly affects the way that people will perceive us and this is why communication & presentation skills are necessary tools as one climbs the ladder to the top.

The Capsule Presentations & Business Writing Course is a ‘quick fix’ solution to improving the Business Communication Skills of staff members. All modules structured to be participative and interactive, are tailored to reflect the needs of the participants. To foster swift learning, there will be pairing & group work, games, processes and exercises designed to stimulate, challenge and develop people’s knowledge and skills.

 

Programme Objectives

Given the brevity of time available for the classroom interface, this programme is designed to be highly practical and structured to be 45% interactive lectures – 55% DIY (Do-it-yourself) Experiential learning. It is not designed to run just like any other Communication Skills programme; rather the focus is to within the few hours available, polish the participants’ speaking and writing proficiencies, equipping them with skills that will help them to make punchy business presentations and generate error-free documents. Focus will be on the 3 pillars of good communication: Clarity, Precision & Effectiveness.

By the end of the capsule session, the participants will

  1. Understand the skills needed to make quick and punchy presentations.
  2. Know how to structure thoughts in a logical sequence, choosing the right words and improving vocabulary.
  3. Choose words carefully either in conversations, correspondence or presentations.
  4. Correct colloquial slangs (Nigerian English) that are often mistaken as official phrases.
  5. Generate (or approve) simple business correspondence without errors
  6. Improve both formal and informal communication, understanding the differences and appropriateness of each.
  7. Know the templates and rules that guide the different types of official correspondence.

INVESTMENT DETAILS

  • Marcforte Business Consulting will develop and run a customised in-plant programme titled ‘The Capsule Presentations & Business Writing Course”
  • Duration – 1 day, 9.00am – 5.00pm
  • Class size: 20 participants.
  • Marcforte will organise and coordinate the programme as well as provide the participants with the relevant course materials – resources, workbooks, case studies etc.

    • Fee – Flatrate of N 325,000.00 (exclusive of VAT). This fee is inclusive of resource materials, E-books and Workbooks, in-training facilitation as well as the post-training support plan.
