How to achieve an Excellent End of Year Business Performance Review

The year is running to an end and the common talk in many organisations is the forthcoming performance review. All you are thinking about is how to stand out among others; of course as a hardworking executive, you want to get positive reviews from colleagues and higher-placed manager.

Here are a few things to note to help you achieve an excellent end-of-year performance review.

  • Firstly, your “accomplishment” for the year is very germane; it is erroneous to assume that your superiors and colleagues know what you have achieved for the year. It is therefore highly recommended that you include a detailed explanation of what you have accomplished for the year.

 

  • Your areas of improvement should not be left out. This enlightens the appraisers on what your challenges are (or have been) in order to take necessary actions to address such. It is expected that having overcome the challenges, you become more productive in the coming year.

 

  • Your area of strengths shouldn’t be left out as it helps a great deal as it enables you maximise efficiency towards productivity. A lot of managers capitalize on the strengths of employees as a means of improving performance, so it is highly recommended you place emphasis on this.

 

  • Outline your priorities for your organisation as it enables you determine your plans and target. It also helps you get feedback from your superior as regards to what their expectations are in the New Year. The end of the year review is a great way to know what the priorities of the organisation are and align it with yours to achieve something(s) great and build your professional reputation.
